When is it approriate to change a goal, especially a medium or long term goal you've been focusing time and evergy on for a long time?

Hey there ... since we're closing the Ask Mark project I'm going to answer all of these questions via text before shutting it down.
As for your question ...
I'd just ask if it's still really what you want. If it's not, cut it. If it is, keep plugging away, but constantly look for faster ways to get it done. How can you "cut the gourdian knot" and just get right to the point?
Are there experts you can consult who have been there before? (not this professional guru nonsense - I mean real people who have actually done it - those are the guys you want to talk to)
You may also want to try slicing it into smaller chunks so you feel more rewarded as you go.
