End My Day Review: Tasks Not On List Done
At the end of the day sometimes our tasks aren't done, and the question becomes, why not? Did the tasks we set out to accomplish take longer than expected? Did we spend too much time playing video games? Or did we end up doing x other tasks? At the end of the day give us the ability to enter what we actually did that day. We can then evaluate "what went wrong" with our day and how we can mitigate this problem in the future...
In many cases there are others I report to or who can enter into my day. The tasks I complete for these individuals may not be the tasks I intended to complete, but they also may be satisfactory tasks. Instead of being disappointed I didn't complete my tasks, let me review what I did - and pat myself on the back for a job well done if it wasn't wasting time but doing necessary things.
We can say, "but oh, they don't count if they don't match your goals" - but what about when mom calls? Or when a friend needs a hand? To me, these are part of my overall value system - they have great importance, but they cannot be planned (usually).
