    I had to remove the cockpit from my computer because it was preventing the computer from shutting down. I'm still running XP :-)

    It's not necessary at all. It's just an add on to give you more exposure to the programs.

    I wasn't aware that you HAVE to download the cockpit. Using Vista it is not even available, so I guess it works without having the cockpit downloaded.

    also wasn't crazy about this and use Firefox, so didn't like having to use IE

    I had to remove the cockpit from my computer because it interefered with the way I log into the internet.
